What you need before you bid

Registering on the Central Supplier Database is the first step for any supplier. It is free, it produces the supplier number many institutions require, and it is where a bidder's tax compliance status and B-BBEE information are declared. Registration does not expire, but the information in it does, and an out-of-date tax status is the single most common reason a bid is disqualified before evaluation.

Beyond registration, most bids need a completed returnable document set from the tender pack, a pricing schedule, a valid B-BBEE certificate or sworn affidavit, proof of tax compliance, and a tax clearance or Tax Compliance Status PIN. Where the advertisement marks a briefing session as compulsory, attendance is a hard requirement, and there is no discretion to excuse a bidder who did not attend.

What we will never do with tenders

  • We never rehost, mirror or alter a tender document. We link to the portal record.
  • We never charge, gate or require registration for publicly advertised tender information.
  • We never state an estimated value that the institution has not published.
  • We never claim to be the issuing institution, and we never imply that a bid must come through us.
