Terms and conditions
Use the site freely. Our written content is ours and may be quoted with attribution and a link; the underlying government information belongs to the public and always did. We do not promise the site will be uninterrupted or that every figure is correct - we promise to show our sources, so you can check.

1. Acceptance
By using findsastatus.co.za you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the site. These terms apply to every page, including the calculators, guides, date listings, jobs and tenders sections, and the email alerts.
2. What the site is - and is not
Find SA Status is an independent information service. It is not a government website, is not affiliated with any department or public entity, and does not act on anyone's behalf in any application, appeal or process. Nothing on this site is legal, tax, financial, immigration or medical advice (see the disclaimer). No page can check the status of any grant, benefit, application, examination or identity document.
3. Accuracy
We work to a published editorial standard: every dated fact carries an official source and a verification date, and errors are corrected quickly (see the editorial policy and corrections policy). We do not, however, warrant that every page is free of error or that a date has not changed since it was checked. Official bodies change deadlines, sometimes at short notice. Before you rely on a date for something that matters, confirm it at the official source we link to - that is exactly why we link to it.
4. Acceptable use
You may browse, link to, print and share pages for personal and professional use. You may not:
- scrape, mirror or republish the site or its data at scale without written permission;
- resell access to the information, which is free and published for the public's benefit;
- present the site or its content as official government information, or imply that we are a government body;
- attempt to disrupt the site, probe it for vulnerabilities without permission, or use it to distribute malware;
- use automated tools in a way that degrades the service for other readers.
5. Intellectual property
The written guides, calculator code, page designs and compiled datasets on this site are our intellectual property. You may quote short extracts with clear attribution and a link to the page. Bulletin-style reproduction of entire guides is not permitted.
Government information itself - gazette notices, statutes, published dates and job or tender notices - is not our property and never was. We summarise and link to it; where we re-state a fact from an official document, you are free to use that fact as you would use it from the document itself.
6. Jobs and tenders
Vacancies and tenders are summarised from public official sources, with a link to the official advert. We are not the employer or the procuring body, we take no part in selection or adjudication, and we charge nothing - anyone asking for a fee to apply for a government job or tender is committing fraud. A listing may close or change before this site is updated; the official advert always governs.
7. External links
Links to official and third-party sites are provided so you can check our work. We are not responsible for the content, availability or privacy practices of those sites, and a link is not an endorsement of anything beyond the specific information it supports.
8. Limitation of liability
The site is provided on an "as is" basis. To the extent the law allows, Find SA Status is not liable for loss or damage arising from reliance on the site, including missed deadlines, failed applications, lost income or wasted expenditure. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded under South African law, including under the Consumer Protection Act where it applies.
9. Changes, and the law that applies
These terms may be updated; the review date at the top of this page always reflects the current version. They are governed by South African law, and disputes fall to the South African courts.
