Independent decision guide
Learner licence vs driving licence
A learner’s licence confirms that a person has passed the required rules-of-the-road test for a vehicle class and may learn under the conditions set by law. A driving licence follows the required practical test. The age, class, documents and fees depend on the licence category.
Which should you choose?
If you are beginning to learn, check the learner’s licence requirements for your vehicle class. If you already hold a learner’s licence and are ready for the practical test, check booking and vehicle requirements with the licensing authority.
